Bought this for my wife for Christmas and she loves it. Seems very well made in regards to hinges, wood finish, felt lining, etc. Just seems nice and sturdy. I don't buy too many jewelry boxes (go figure!), so I am not sure if $130 is fair but it is a long-term purchase and holds a ton more than what she had, so it is probably worth the cost. I like the fact that when opening the doors there are multiple hooks on the inside walls of the main box, maximizing the space to hang necklaces and so on. Other units I looked at did not have this feature and wasted the space on the inside doors. She made a comment on how nice the mirror was too under the top lid, so that is a plus as well. I thought it would be a bit darker, bordering on the side of black but it tends to go very dark brown encroaching on deep cherry. Hope that helps.Great from afar, a mess up close By Knat
I just received the jewelry box in the mail as a Christmas gift for my wife. I decided to inspect it as I wanted to avoid any issues come Christmas morning and I'm so happy that I did. The positives: *The wood is a deep red which is beautiful. The picture on Amazon makes it look almost black, but it is in fact deep red which is what another reviewer pointed out. *The drawers are smooth opening and there are five of them, so lots of room available. *The lid mechanism works well and the mirror on the inside lid is a nice touch. *You are able to hang long necklaces on the inside swing out cabinets, but also on the inside walls. The negatives: *The individual sections within the drawers and under the lid were crooked. The sections are made up of crosshatched material and the person who assembled my box did not glue them down parallel to the sides of the drawer. *My jewelry box also came with one crooked hanger bar on the left inside cabinet. The right was perfectly horizontal to the floor, but the left one was so crooked that it surely would have disappointed my wife. I didn't take a level to it, nor am I that anal retentive, but it was badly assembled. I ended up taking a heat gun to the left hanger bar to loosen the glue and then I re-attached the hanger bar level to the floor. The jewelry box is beautiful from a distance, but up close, the attention to detail is lacking especially for a $140 dollar item.Wonderful! By Leslieblonde
I purchased this for my daughter (15) for Christmas. She did not request a jewelry box, but said this was her favorite gift! It is beautiful and has excellent storage. It is well made. Yazmo shipped it quickly! The only thing we will do to modify it is to add felt cushion dots to the top lid so that it doesn't slam down on itself.
